I hang it vertically with the stars on the left since I don't have a flag pole. Holiday only.
For those who display flags on holidays...

Your first line is the thing I was most curious about. When one displays a flag is an individual choice, fly it whenever, as often as one likes.
The 'one' refers to private citizens, which I'm assuming wurm is. As such, a private citizen isn't bound by tradition and flag etiquette, unless he or she chooses to be. Note Jonny's mention of flag flown upside down. Therefore a citizen can fly it on even days of the month, week days only on calendar days that end with a 2, whatever, if that's what they want to do. Or, they can follow tradition and etiquette. Me, I'm not crazy about the flag being used for clothing (not flags properly displayed on uniforms. I've seen people put flag decals on their pickup trucks, the same decal on both sides of the truck. One faces forward as it should, the other is facing backward, a violation of tradition and etiquette.

I voted all the time. I do take it down at night, when I won't be home before dusk or during high winds.

We drove through that area last summer, and I really see that in the piece. Also did the Coast Starlight train, and saw similar views out our windows in other parts of California.
