What machine/OS are you using?
I have seen that when I use my 2012 mini (Catalina) and people post a newer version of JPEG that works with iPhone and my Monterey M1 Machine.

Techmoan review. This is where I learned about it.

I watched the video, that thing is really cool.
Even cooler, watch the video all the way to the end. The credits are 2 minutes long but the guys has a lot of cool toys. In fact if you don't want to watch the while thing, I recommend skipping to 10:30 just for the credits.

A cheap (free) solution that you haven’t mentioned if you’ve tried or not would be to crank up the TV speakers to add into the 2.0 mix. As we all know, the built in speakers are crap due to the space they have to cram them into, but it may give some boost to the dialogue. The problem is, as has been mentioned, is the way shows and movies are mixed these days. I have a feeling your 2.0 system may actually be doing just as good a job with the dialogue as a dedicated center would. If you do see some benefit from the TV speakers, a soundbar may help even more. Otherwise, you’re basically looking at adding a whole second system on top of what you already have.

the Accuphase stuff I'm seeing at has no center chan output.
What Lew said, definitely, if that's what the room looks like.
And what August & bigstuff said too. Proc before the Accu for left/right and a powered speaker for center off the proc.
Dunno if anything would even come close to the Mags in sound.
But I'd go with a JBL, Klipsch, Avantone, Auratone and the like.
And ~ $200.
Unless you want to dive into a Focal.
Polks tend to hype the bottom, which is not what you want for dialog.
I assume your listen level isn't loud, <85db. Loud would make a mess in a reflective room too.
Or perhaps just a separate sound bar for TV and film.
I assume with the Mags you are mostly a jazz, classical and acoustic listener?
Not too much AC/DC emanating from the Mags. And the occasional Rhianna.

Thank you for all of the responses. The picture was taken right after the wood floor was installed. My wife bought a big thick area rug. I should update the picture.
Fritz you are correct that we mostly listen to jazz/blues at low volumes.
It sounds like I don’t have any easy options. I wish that Apple would build a “boost voices” option to the AppleTV. They already have an option to reduce loud sounds (turned off) so it would seem they have the ability.

had a maintenance client back when, with a pair of Mags and an Ampex ATR102. He had a whole lot of 2nd gen DGR and Columbia tapes, mostly string quartets I think. He knew someone.
The stuff sounded awesome.
But no matter how much you maintain, even a high end tape machine, them heads is still polishing your tape.
Just read about the 14 month record of Born to Run.

That's odd.
I see it as a jpeg (not .heif) in Sierra on my 2012 mini and in Big Sur on my M1 MBA, both using Safari.
Maybe try a different browser?
Huh.
I just tried Firefox and it doesn't open.
It's an older version, 104.x, so that may be the problem, but an old version of Safari in Sierra works just fine.

My Firefox is 110, the latest.
But yup, Safari opens the pict.
Nice set-up there mate.
Dunno how big the space between the TV and the mantel is, but if you can and that is an HDMI ARC TV, I'd go with a sound bar.
A Sennheiser Ambeo if you want the stoopit best. But it is nice.
B&W makes nice stuff.
The Samsungs are well rated, but I believe I stated my opinion of Sam before.
I feel the same about Sony, but they are also well rated.
And LG, Bose & Polk.
My client has Sonos which I was prepared to not like. It's rather good.
JBL, although owned by Sammy, still has their own design engineers for CE,
But I haven't heard one.
My bud, also a post audio guy, has a very old Yammy that he quite happy with.
Considering what he dropped on post audio speakers, that is saying something.
Can't imagine what compressed TV signal sounds like on the Mags. Ick poo!
Unless you're watching OTA or steaming as compared to cable.
Some excess opinions from the most opinionated audio mofo here.
Y'ever listen to Flat Earth Society ? Not trad jazz, more free band style.
Or Maria Schneider? Sort of half way between old school and free.
Rory Block?
