Amazon killed the order history reporter, aggghhhhh!

I think my first Amazon order was in 1996. Jeff was doing customer service then.

Have not heard from him since. Hope he's ok.

Amazon provides the most deceptive purchase information out of any business I’ve ever seen. The reason that access to your history was so important is that Amazon refuses to include the product name on your credit card statements. You’re given a cryptic string of digits with dates that sometimes don’t match your order date. Good luck confirming that the charge is for something you ordered without downloading your history for the month.

And Amazon billing is getting worse. I recently returned a package of screws to their Whole Foods drop off near me. You aren’t provided a receipt when you drop off your return. You have to wait for a post-drop off email confirmation ( what could possibly go wrong?). I got the email confirmation, then got an email informing me that I received a credit for the return. A few days ago I got an email saying that they never received the return and they are charging me for the screws. Now I wonder how much time it will take me to get this corrected.

It is tedious but i actually do this every month by going through the Your Orders page.

this happened to me last year with an order returned via Whole Foods. It actually only took a short phone call to fix. I simply pointed out I had a drop off confirmation email.

I'd never seen that Order History Report feature. I just checked and my entire order history since 1998 is still viewable under Your Orders.

Try reporting that an item was missing from the box when your order arrived. You are given the option of returning the otem you never got.

Ka Jowct, I've had that same experience. I received a box with absolutely nothing in it. I tried a few things but no joy so I had to purchase a second time. Thankfully it was an inexpensive item.

Graylocks, I think I'll have to do my budget the tedious way that you describe. It's frustrating. Clicking a few buttons to download a report was much better.

I always call and speak to a human for situations like that, and it's handled very quickly. I've had cases where the packaging (brown paper bag) tore in transit and an item escaped, and also cases where I ordered two of an item but they only packed one in the box.

1-866-216-1072 is the number I've kept in my records for years, gets you to a real person (though not necessarily in the US anymore).

No Whole Foods near me, so I opt for the local UPS Store or sometimes Kohls. I always ask for a receipt showing it's now in their hands. I'm really surprised that's not an option at WF.

Wow GGD thank you for that phone number. It's going in my addressbook right now.

Yes going thru your orders now looks to be the only way you can track what you buy. There's no more downloadable CSV file available, which was really helpful. Digging around I see I never requested a return for the screws I bought so I have no idea what they are doing at this point but Im happy to pay for them as they helped to repair a kitchen cabinet door.

I just looked up the purchase and see that I kept it, never requested a return so Im stumped as to what they are doing. I did buy another similar item the same day and returned it but that return went fine and I received my credit.
