I’m holding out for a TV that I apply to my wall like wallpaper and can be the size of my wall, any wall, like resizing a .pdf and maintaining perfect blacks and high resolution. Maybe there will be one in a couple of years.

you would not really notice. my projector is low-res but high enough that it reminds one of a movie screen at a cinema, mostly because of very little frame rate drop typical of TVs. I never, ever miss the "more black" of a TV because of the look. I do want a higher res projector at some point soon, though.
