I just messaged my 3 Congresspeople asking for an investigation.
Let me message Maxine Waters and urge her to demand an investigation. Because otherwise, she's just sitting on her ass eating bon-bons.
No need to snark when someone attempts to engage with their representatives. It is a most basic part of being a citizen.

It's with the assumption that they're not doing anything otherwise. That's not true.

It’s true for more than you care to admit. Especially for people whose reps are Republicans.

I don't agree that it's more than I care to admit because I know the score.
I do agree that people should engage with their representatives. But do it from the perspective of being informed about their activities and their motivations. If I ask insane Rep. Buddy Carter (GA) to investigate, it's worthy as an exercise. I'm not saying don't do it.
But, people need to learn to embrace the fact that it's limited. The battlefront changed. Just because we're frustrated doesn't mean we can't be strategic. People want Pitbuls but Pitbulls have teeth and jaws that can crush bone. Our Pitbulls can only bark. They're barking.

I’m sorry. If a pitbull barks in the forest and nobody hears it, did it make a sound? If my constituents feel I am underperforming, maybe I need to howl at the moon. The moon won’t change but at least my constituents will know I am awake.

But they do it now. If your constituents don't pay attention, that's on them. I follow everybody. I'm inundated all day long with what they all do. The hearing they had today about the Signal thing, Democrats did a great job. Who's going to know that if they don't pay attention to it? People need to address their own deficiencies. Their own culpability.
They didn't beat us. We beat ourselves. And the reason isn't who the people complaining the most think it is. It's who it was. People are always vulnerable to mobbing and movements based on some idea of what the truth is our of sheer frustration. You can just know what the truth is, in my opinion. Plan a strategy and implement it.

Here's the live House hearing on SNAP benefits and potential Republican cuts. Democrats are battling their butts off here. This is free on YouTube. Anybody can watch it. But the next day, I'll have to hear people complain about Democrats doing nothing about stopping SNAP cuts. "That's" frustrating to me.

Not exactly a hearing per se.

vision, I understand what you are saying.
At the same time, it doesn't do any good unless people go to their social media accounts and share share share. Because that is the only place besides c-span and youtube that this stuff appears. And most of us don't have a life that includes being able to sit down and watch c-span and youtube all day,
Also, I fault politicians for sending infinite numbers of emails asking for money. Make a newsletter that explicitly states it will never fund raise. Or has the fundraising small at the bottom so it's there if one wants it.
As it is, when Harris lost, I got three emails the very next day from the Harris team asking me for money. Nobody wants these effing emails, trust me. I unsubscribe, send to junk, report to Apple, and STILL they ask for more money. Politicians who live halfway across the country. It's all BS and a sure way to turn everyone off.
So they have only themselves to blame that most of the public does not know what they are up to. Because most of the public thinks they walk around with their hands out all day and do not want to engage with that.

The election processes and cycles are their own beasts. I'm worn out from all the begging. For House members, they can't ever stop or pause. 24 months go by fast. They also don't want to get caught slipping, like Joe Crowley did, when AOC upset him in 2018. Nobody begs more than her, because she's knows it can happen to anyone. She also watched her next door Rep and fellow Social Democrat Jamaal Bowman butterfinger his way out of office unnecessarily.
I don't mind any kind of initiative, outreach, outcry as long as it's uplifting and positive for Democrats. Because, it's either Democrats or Republicans. It's the only team there is.

I have to admit they did a good job on the hearing judging by the clips I saw. I felt like I finally saw some fire.
