[quote BigGuynRusty][quote abevilac]BGnR,
a grape iMac and a Pismo and he is a she!

JEEZO!
How would I know either of these "alleged" facts?

[quote abevilac]Thanks. It's a Graphite ABS and it has a Lucent logo on it. So, will this PCMCIA card work in a Pismo? What does "only looks to the system as an "airport card" in OS9 mean? I'm thinking it means I can't use this card for anything using OS 10.x

Thanks for all the info though...

The White ABS has an original Airport card in it.
The silver look Graphite ABS has the Lucent/Orinoco Silver card. This is a PCMCIA card, and will not work in any iMac, only in the PC Card slot of a Powerbook (only looks to the system as an "Airport card" in OS9

Not "exactly" accurate! I have one of the Lucent cards in a Digital Audio G4 and it works like a charm. (Although some case modification required.)

sorry for the confusion... I have a grape iMac w/out an airport card and a Pismo w/ one, and I have a graphite ABS. If I can use the PCMCIA card in the Pismo, I can then switch the airport card to the grape.

TOTAL HorseHockey KS, in that post or in any other one before the one where I was informed of her name, and ownership of a Pismo. I could not even assume either fact.
1. "abevilac" male or female? Could've been Abe Vilac as far as I could tell.
2. "So, will this PCMCIA card work in a Pismo?"
That does not say "I also own a Pismo, will it work in that?"
It could've also meant,: My Husband/BoyFriend/GirlFriend/BestFriend/BestBuddy/Neighbor/Someone at Work owns a Pismo, "So, will this PCMCIA card work in a Pismo?"

So much for your statement KS.

Lets just get this out of the way. Big Grin
She owns a Grape iMac(No AP Card, buts want an AP Card in it) and Pismo(Has AP Card) and a Graphite AirPort Base Station(Has PCMCIA Card).

She plans to move the Graphite's PCMCIA Card to the Pismo and install the Pismo's AP Card in the Grape iMac.

She hasnt mentioned if she has the AP Adapter required to install the AP Card into the iMac.

EDIT: Here is the AP Adapter. Runs about $20 on ebay. http://search.ebay.com/Airport-card-adap...QQfromZR40

A grape iMac doesn't (266-333 MHz) doesn't have an airport slot - so don't bother with an airport card.

The grape iMac [slot loading DVD] does have an airport slot and I have the AP Adapter already.
