Will Tony become like Christopher?

I couldn't resist reading this thread even though I knew there would be a spoiler and I haven't watched
any episodes yet this season - just got caught up with last season

I can't imagine having to watch the "sanitized" version : - /

[quote chas_m]Would it KILL you to put SOME FREAKIN' CLUE as to WHAT THE HELL YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT in the freakin' THREAD TITLE.

Thanks for wasting my time. Do you want to know what will kill this forum? SPEAKING IN CODE WILL KILL THIS FORUM. So stop it. Now.
Oh, relax. If you can't figure out what's being talked about my the subject line, then you undoubtedly have nothing to add to the discussion anyway. It's not a secret code; a person either recognizes the names from a series because they watch it, or they don't. It is not mandatory that every forum member read every thread. I don't. And, in spite of the fact I don't read each thread, the forum seems to stay alive and well. Heck, it's probably better off.

LOL! I haven't seen that Simpsons episode in a while.

And yeah, Tony's rank hypocrisy was displayed clear as crystal in last night's episode. Seems like the writers are stripping away any and all last shreds of likeability from all the characters over these last few weeks.

I like the false ray of hope that Chrissy's death gives to Tony, but also kind of feel like the end for his character was a bit of a cop-out on the writers' part. Was wondering if Chrissy was going to turn states on the "family" he was feeling so alienated from.

Anthony Jr's internal conflict was also interesting to see: will he join in with his thuggish friends and thus follow his father's path, or will his intellectual curiousity displayed by his sitting-in on some English Lit classes actually win out?

You're absolutely right, but how will I know that until I waste time opening the thread?

The fact of the matter is that inscrutable thread titles create "cliques" which is detrimental to the forum, and furthermore it is RUDE not to have clear, understandable thread titles so that non-clique members know it's not for them.

Just adding the word "Sopranos:" to the beginning of your thread title would have made all the difference, but you're just too LAZY and INCONSIDERATE to do so because you appear to think that the only "Tony and Christopher" in the freakin' WORLD happen to be in the Sopranos.

For the record, I thought you were referring to Tony BLANKLEY and Christopher HITCHENS, who have a relationship that your subject line could have easily been referring to, though it would have been more political and thus wrong for this forum.

I entered the thread to see if that was indeed what you were on about, and if so to let you know that you'd posted to the wrong "side."

It is not mandatory that every forum member read every thread.

Completely true, but how do you know WHICH threads not to look at? I'll tell you how: THOUGHTFUL forum members make their subject lines CLEAR, that's how.

Hope that clears things up for you.

chas_m, how much valuable time did you lose by simply clicking on a link? Don't you think you're overstating the importance of a single thread?

chas_m - I really think the forum will survive obscure thread titles, and personally that's half the fun with an OT thread

I really don't want people writing the name of the gift on my presents wrapping paper -
It takes all the fun out of opening them : - /

Well, it does in a way. It tells me that if you understand it, it can say almost anything.

Apparently you knew exactly what this one was about. Is it a guy thing? You had no comment to make about either the tires or the title.

Dunlop Citation or Toyo Spectrum?

I definitely had to open that one to see what the subject was. Once I figured out it was about tires, I just moved on.

I think you must have had a bad day and are looking for an outlet for your aggression. I'm sorry. I hope tomorrow is better. Smile
