Oh no! I went to the TiVo side!

I, too, just moved to Tivo (actually back to Tivo - had DirecTivo units several years ago). I had 3 ReplayTVs (2 Lifetime and 1 monthly). Now have 3 TivoHDs and one S2DT (courtesy of the $99 Amazon bundle that came with both the Tivo and a $100 Tivo service gift card).

Long story, but now have 2 TivoHDs with lifetime that cost me $299 (using the above service gift card and moving a lifetime subscription off a Series 1 I bought on eBay) and 1 THD and 1 S2DT on monthly for $6.95.

i will miss poopli for getting shows sent to me that I forgot to record and IVSMagic for remote management of our Replays and DVArchive for archiving shows but it is definitely nice having the HD boxes now that they have enabled Multi-Room Viewing and Tivo to Go.

Just pulled the trigger. Have been thinking about it for ages, and the free hardware with a one-year subscription did it for me. Thanks Bill in NC!!

BTW, the code is Toyota, rather than toyota. Won't take it without the capital letter.

Anyhoo, feeling very excited right now.

I thought RePlay was the darkside? Smile

By the way, after you get your TiVo and play with it for awhile, I would be interested in hearing what you have to say a about comparing the two units capabilities and usability.

I happen to have the following DVRs, like them a lot:

Tivo Series 1 (Built like a tank, won't die)
TiVo Series 2
TiVo Series 3 HD

Oh ye of little faith, unlike TiVo, ReplayTV doesn't monitor what you are watching.

davester....

Is it a bad thing for them to know what I am watching? They don't connect what I watch with the user, do they? Maybe I am naive? Smile
