What a clever commercial!
I still think the AirBook is a pissy little thing.

The MBAs are selling very strongly according to Apple's latest quarterly report. Doesn't smell like the "Cube redux" quite yet. Maybe that Steve Jobs guy actually knows what he's doing, ya think?
I can't save I've been very impressed with Lenovo's ThinkPads. They've got downhill since they took them over from IBM. Thankfully I'm not having to spec many PC laptops anymore...

I've got the "little" part but what exactly do you mean by "pissy?"

Haven't used my CD drive in such a long time, I have been wanting a laptop without one! I still like FireWire better than USB though. Otherwise, MBA is about right for my needs. I also haven't used a desktop since LC III, circa '95 or so. Does the Lenovo also run OS X??

There's nothing clever about it, appealing to a schoolyard 14-year old's mentality.
It shows that they miss the point or more likely are aiming at the aforementioned mentality that can't tell the difference between apples and oranges.
"Starting at just 2.93lbs" and "From $3300" for the optional DVD drive" (replaces the optional extended battery of the $3225 version)?
"Note: By selecting the Lightweight Travel Bezel, an optical drive or additional battery will not ship with the system."
For $3375 you can get it with Verizon Mobile Broadband, but no extended battery or DVD drive. The drive is a $105 option. A "lightweight bezel" plugs the hole and saves $120 off the $3375 price.
So one still has to make sacrifices.
I may have missed it, but Tech Specs of the configurations, particularly the weight as outfitted, seem a little elusive.
It's one thing to take on a competitor's product, but at least make it look like something.
...but what exactly do you mean by "pissy?"
Probably that it lacks monster truck tires or those faux sack-and-balls that dangle off a trailer hitch or bumper.
Oh, and no Raiders decal.

There's no comparison until Lenovo develops and installs an operating system that isn't a POS.

Why the need to diss on those who found it clever or funny?
Who even cares what the ad is for? I watched the whole thing and didn't even know.
Do you really feel this threatened by it?

The OP thought the ad 'stung' and that it was 'clever.' Other posters expressed disagreement with that assessment. Is that okay with you, BL?
