with boot camp or fusion there's little reason to have a pc or run windows full-time.

If you have Vista Business or Ultimate, it includes a license to XP.

If you buy a retail box of XP it may or may not install on the laptop. XP SP2 doesn't contain a lot of SATA drivers and certainly does not have the latest drivers or drivers for anything new and simply won't install on a lot of new machines. Maybe a slipstreamed XP SP3 disk would work?

The guy here at work returned his Dell for the exact same model with XP preinstalled.
