I always remember Jane Pauley asking him about his parents on SNL: "And how are the Diddleys doing?"

I met bo and hung out at his house outside Gainesville, FL back in my college days (early 80's). He used to show up at clubs in town unannounced, just walk in and start playing. He was a hell of a performer.
More talent than ever given credit for but he was one bitter, bitter man. RIP Bo

Thanks for the inspiration and enjoyment Mr. Bo, rest in peace. ![]() Night was dark, but the sky was blue, Down the alley, the ice-wagon flew, Heard a bump, and somebody screamed, You should have heard just what I seen. Who do you love?

Some of the very earliest Rolling Stones covers are Bo Diddley tunes. Worth checking out if you're into unreleased/outtakes and early Stones.
I saw him perform in Seattle a number of years ago and was surprised that he didn't play some of his biggest hits, but he was still very good. He had to stop early on to replace a bunch of D batteries in his tremolo and seemed embarrassed by the delay. |
