Tip: Diagnostics available without Leopard DVD

Hate to say it but it reminds me of PCs with their hidden restore partitions. How do you restore this secret partition if you format your drive or swap it out for a new one? What if your drive dies? I hope they still provide the hardware CDs.

If you use the Restore disc or probably a clone, you should be able to reformat without losing the utilities.

There is *nothing* to suggest that there will be no more DVDs. This is just a great way to expedite running the AHT without having to boot from a disk, which takes forever.

I wonder if the utilities are actually *hidden*. If not, this would be great to add to a Retail install which lacks this ability.
