Yeah, that's exactly why I waited to see a deal on a pair of 1600x1200 Planars. You NEVER see a deal these days on anything but a widescreen. With my setup I get 3200x1200 real estate to play with. I don't have the room for 23" widescreens, and I need the height.
Not EVERYBODY buys a computer to watch movies. It's annoying.

last post here -- and i sorta lied -- one of my setups is a 24" 1920 X 1200 + 20" 1680 X 1050, i didnt really have a choice...

My setup is a 1900x1200 (Acer 24" ) next to a 1600x1200 (Dell). The Acer is a Widescreen, the Dell is not. Sorry, no picture.
I'm not fond of the Acer... not because it's widescreen, but because it sucks as a monitor. I got the "non TN" one that is supposed to have better viewing angles than a TN screen. I can't imagine there being a worse option. If I'm only 5 or 10 degrees above or below center, the color fades badly. I'm wishing I'd spent more on a better monitor.
