Your favorite mouse & why?

you will have to pry my MS Wireless Intellimouse Explorer from my cold dead hands. it is quite possibly the one you describe. much to my surprise, its large size is so very comfortable.

now, if i had the money someone already posted the mouse of my dreams:

On my desktop computer I have been using a Kensington trackball for the last ~4 years and I wouldn't change it for ANY mouse.

When traveling I use the Logitech nano:

A VERY good mouse. Laser, small USB connector, scroll wheel that can either go very fast or incrementally and good shape.

TrackBall only for me also. I love the Kensington, and the old Microsoft Explorer

Was gonna say "Jerry," but after Seacrest's response, why bother?

Cordless TrackMan Wheel Mouse Optical USB

It is sculpted to fit a limp wrist. It is cordless and takes a fall well. I bought my Mom one for insurance. If mine ever dies her's will disappear.Confusedecret:

Wow... quite a varied response. LOL, Seacrest... I feared the topic would denigrate after the first response ..:judge:

I was also a Kensington trackball fan way back in the ADB days, but never looked back with the advent of USB / Scroll wheel mice.

The Razer and Evoluent are intriguing - I'd like to find a store that carries them locally to get a feel for them.

While wireless would be nice, it isn't a must.

Mike, does the wheel button click work for you? Or does it switch modes for you as well?

I'm very particular about my mouse setup and needs, and I use the Logitech MX518, in conjunction with the utility SteerMouse

Works perfectly, And because SteerMouse allows you to set up all of the buttons differently for each application, I can get dozens of uses from each of the buttons.

(I used to be a huge fan of USB Overdrive, but the developer stopped working on it and it just didn't work any more with most mice)

Clicking the wheel doesn't seem to click.

It just seems to switch from "Smooth wheel" to "Playing card in the spokes wheel."

Is the wheel supposed to be able to click?

I've always had this strange mousing technique where I pinch the mouse with my thumb and two small fingers at the back and have my other two fingers in the air.

I don't lay my hand over the mouse like a regular person except for the moment when I'm actually clicking or scrolling.

The MK Revolution is really nicely ballanced for my technique.
And you can click way back on the mouse, not just near the front where the buttons are.

I always liked the lighest mouse available.
I always like the simplest, cleanest shape.
I always avoided cordless mouses because I thought they were heavy.

However one day I was in a bad mood at work and went up to the local shop with the company credit card and said give me the most expensive mouse you have in stock.

I came back with the Logitech and it was a bit of a revelation for me.

It was all the things that I though I hated i.e. big, heavy, wireless, lots of buttons, crazy shape, etc.

Yet I almost immediately loved it.

Kensington PilotMouse Mini Bluetooth with MouseWorks 3

Does everything I need. Small, yet comfortable and gets good battery life.

Besides, they're cheap :woot:
