They say curiosity is a sign of intelligence.

All worked out well, I got the refund issued through paypal and hopefully everyone's happy (well, at least I am).
For the curious... The original auction was for a couple superbowl jerseys. Jerseys shipped from China (seller in midwest) and when they arrived they were authentic jerseys, just not the superbowl replica jerseys and a different color. Seller apologized up front that a mistake was made (something was lost in translation along the way between him and jersey source) and offered me the options of shipping back with a full refund or he'd take $30 off to cut me a slight deal on what the regular jerseys would normally cost. Since I had considered getting those jerseys at some other time and I preferred the color sent, I opted for the partial refund. Seller didn't have a lot of feedback yet (<15) so I chalk it to naivete rather than malice on his part concerning his request for feedback first but I wanted to make sure what should happen because I'm far from a ebay power user myself. All in all, nothing involving a high stake risk, but didn't want to paint myself into corner to pay $20+ more than others were selling the same jerseys and lose my ability to claim a full refund or file a claim if things went sour. Thanks again.

Please remember to leave good feedback for the seller now that the refund is complete. The problem was something that was outside of his control, and he did what was necessary to make things right.
