Questions about Ooma

Vonnage customer service sux. When I tried to cancel, Vonnage ADDED a second line. Phone calls got me nowhere. I had to cancel my credit card to keep them from charging me (this is the only time in 20+ years that Discover Card hasn't helped me. They kept allowing the charge as Vonnage claimed it was valid).

wow, I would sue them (Vonage)

My Ooma has been awesome, and has paid for itself quickly. I only wish I had gotten it much sooner, when I first looked into them. I would've saved _alot_ more money.

I also pay the $99/year premium service, since I was going to pay $40 for the number porting anyway, and that is included with the premium.

"wow, I would sue them (Vonage)"

If only it were that easy. Vonage is in a different state. Suing them would literally be a Federal Case. What surprised me is that Discover Card sided with them. Hence the need on my part to cancel that card. Then Vonage started harassing me. The few other times I've needed help, Discover Card was great. Just today, DC called me to verify a $1000+ charge I made half way across the country (valid; I am in Wisconsin and have registered at the Days Inn).

Anyone who's considering Vonage, especially if they're not in the same state as Vonage, should think twice. If you do sign with Vonage and decide to cancel, be very aggressive in notifying Vonage about the cancellation. Then, pay close attention to your credit card statement.
