Michael Vick to play in the NFL again?
#11
He's a slime ball - he should never be allowed to be a "role model" for youth.

There is not only the animal abuse issue - which IMO should be enough for him to be staked out and left for the dogs he abused to deal with, but more pertinently, for the NFL, the issue of gambling.

Don't reward bad behavior.

Why do we want thugs and low life scum playing professional sports. There are plenty of good athletes bestowed with classy and righteous behavior.

Elevate the good. Shun the bad.

Because thugs and low-life scums ... bad cool dudes generate most money for advertisers. Otherwise, family wholesome sports like the women's national soccer events would be still around.

Clean slate.

There is no such thing as a clean slate.

You don't have to like him but neither do you get to deprive him of making an income.

Goodell has a lot to consider in the process. How are their fans, advertisers, corporate sponsors (box holders, etc) going to react? With the current economic situation and companies cutting their expenditures, improper handling of this could have a huge negative impact on the NFL.

All those boos from the stands are still have potential dollar bills attached to them.

Yeah, let's have the poor baby have his dog fighting income back.
After all, he pays taxes.

Vick's crime is not related to his chosen profession like say, a child molester selling ice cream cones to kids.

Are people upset about Vick working again or upset about him still having the potential to make a lot of money? I think everyone be OK with Vick bagging groceries, so why is it wrong for him to play in the NFL? The guy did his time and assuming he still has the physical ability to play in the NFL I see no reason he shouldn't be allowed to do so, assuming some team wants to pay him.

You're correct, they're equivalent positions.

Exactly. Football after all is just another form of animal abuse, abet the animals in question are human.
