Yes. I thought the same thing when the BK Quad Stacker came out and I don't regret it. Just don't get more than one a year and you should be OK.

How many martinis could I trade for one of those shakes?

Wow, Baskin Robins stopped advertising the Heath bar shake last year after it made the rounds that it had 2,300 calories and this new one has 2,600 calories. Someone did not learn their lesson?

About 13. It depends on if you count the olive(s) and if it is made with anything with sugar/carbs. The numbers I found were 140 to 190 calories.

Most people will not gain weight by only drinking straight alcohol since only about 1 out of 12 people has the enzyme to metabolize alcohol faster than the liver can burn it for energy. The pounds really get put on by eating fat and carbs when out drinking, or from drinks with sugar or other carbs. Most light beers usually have some amount of non-alcohol calories.

Everything in moderation. For example, if you eat 600 calories of food at some meal and then have 6 drinks (assuming ~15 grams of alcohol per drink and no carbs), your body will use the alcohol for energy and end up converting much of the 600 calories to fat. Much like if you ate an extra 600 calories of food and had nothing to drink.

I think this came up before?

Baskin-Robbins Large Chocolate Oreo Shake
2,600 calories
135 g fat (59 g saturated fat, 2.5 g trans fat)
263 g sugars
1,700 mg sodium

FYI, 3200 excess calories makes for a 1 pound weight gain.

I'm skeptical. After 6 drinks, how much energy expenditure is there from lying in the gutter?
