My first Toyota is my current Toyota, an 04 Sienna. It's beautifully designed, and loaded (it's an XLE), and we love it, but I must say it hasn't been without its mechanical and electrical bugaboos. In just the last year (with 60K miles on the odometer) we've replaced the seat warmers, the left sliding door mechanism, and the front proximity sensors, and each repair would have cost as much as we spent on the extended warranty. My wife had been the one pushing for the warranty and despite Toyota's reputation and my expectations, it turned out to be a very good investment.
I'm sure you'll love your Prius though, even if it doesn't turn out to be perfect (which I hope it will). I haven't heard anybody who has one say a thing against them.

im sure it will be fine, but my 2002 camry XLE could have been painted lemon yellow...

My 2010 Black Prius, with it's 55 MPG current average, and I welcome you to the fold.

Nice!
You'll like driving the Prius... it's actually a pretty nice car as long as you don't let the hype go to your head. I enjoy driving my Mom's Prius when I have the opportunity. Don't get distracted from driving by watching the power/efficiency display :-) It's easy to do... And don't get disconcerted when you're driving downhill and the gas engine just shuts off... Those first few times you have to resist the urge to hit the brakes...

They've completely changed the hybrid drive display this year. There's
numerous different views you change the display to. When I drove off with it I was a little apprehensive about it, there was just so much stuff going on, no key in the dash, a self-centering joystick for putting it in drive, a button to put it in Park, just pull on the door handle to unlock it as long as you have the keyfob on you somewhere, etc. Supposedly it will talk you through setting up your Bluetooth phone, pairing they call it, like I paired my phone to my Mac Mini. http://blogs.edmunds.com/greencaradvisor...tive-.html ![]() These flash up on the dash anytime up use the steering wheel controls and then go away. ![]()
