Mac Minis and 1600x900 Resolution?
#11
The graphics on more recent minis have changed significantly-- I'll bet it will work flawlessly if you can get them to do so.
I'm not familiar with the connectors on your generation of mini-- need you to slow down and be more specific.
Is this it?

In prior research (I was looking to set up a dedicated surveillance mac) I learned that there's something a little esoteric about the display connector pins on older minis-- I doubt it's the monitor, but you seem to have a number of options for testing it without incurring a restocking fee.

Try to debug the issue using only the DVI connection/cable.

Are all of your cables tightly secured to the monitor and the Mini?

Does the problem remain after you use the "Detect Displays" button in the Display pref's?

Does the problem remain after you set it to thousands of colors instead of millions of colors?

Does the problem remain after turning the monitor off for 10 seconds and then turning it back on?

If I'm reading correctly he's using the cables that came with the monitor?
I'd want to try different ones if possible, too.

Yep. Try a different cable if available.

Also, what version of the OS are you running on the Mini?

I'm running Snow Leopard and that has not helped.

Wouldn't hurt to try zapping the PRAM.

Why continue with that grief when the mini works fine with 2 other monitors? I bought a new 24" Samsung, connected it, and the mini found it and made it work correctly. No adjustments necessary.

Try swapping cables if you have another one. If still no workee, take it back.
