They should negotiate of piece of the fortune I pay Comcast every month. It's still just TV. They can run more commercials for all I care.

Comcast has its own service.
Called Fancast.
They're also probably going to buy one of Hulu's parents, NBC.

That would be cool, but it's not going to bring them any revenue, so probably won't happen.

Fancast sucks. It hardly compares to Hulu.

Fancast sometimes has shows that I want to watch where Hulu does not, but they interrupt with more and longer commercials and they go so far as to disable clicks -- and volume controls -- during playback so that their frequent, long and VERY LOUD ads piss off everyone around and wake the neighbors, too.

They also lack a low-bandwidth/low-quality option like Hulu has.

Hulu's support is excellent with a comprehensive FAQ, well-informed moderators and quick responses to email inquiries. Support requests at Fancast seem to go right to null.

Hulu is a model for content delivery. Fancast is just annoying.

Hulu isn't worth a dime as long as they use broken Flash for streaming. HTML5 please save us from Flash!!! I also like how Hulu calls 480p "HD". 480p is not considered HD in this country. Since Hulu is only available in the USA, not sure why they think they can get around with calling 480p "HD".

I've used Flash playback with Hulu and Neflix. Other than not being PPC friendly, I've had no problems with it. What issues are you running into and what indication do you have that HTML5 video will fix it? FWIW, HTML5 video is not streaming, as far as I can tell. It's progressive download.

Netflix uses Silverlight. Streaming Flash video is crappy quality, yet takes a high toll on system performance. Who wants their Mac's fans kicking in just to playback sub SD quality video?

Ah, yes, you're right, Netfilx uses Silverlight. I create full screen HD flash video and it isn't that bad on performance, except PPC machines. Quality is great. Maybe then content you're getting is just poorly encoded?

YouTube is a given as poorly encoded. Hulu is pretty bad. Their HD is a joke. I'm blanking on other sites I use right now.
