it is NOT a problem of BANDWIDTH. That is just fine.
I has some issues with routing the VOIP calls and the iChat calls correctly in the past. as soon as I connected the device directly to the net, the problems was solved, so it was 100% a NAT issues.

...Or you need a new router/firmware or you've got a cabling problem or any number of other things.

nope, these GIZMO VOIP ATA don't like to be behind a router which uses NAT. Also, there are numerous complains about iChat not working properly behind most routers. believe me, it's not a deal breaker, but if I could get 2-3 public IPs from comcast that would make things much simpler.

and how many of those users use SIP Phone, AKA Gizmo 5, http://gizmo5.com/pc/ with an ATA adapter?

For the most part, all routers use NAT. Otherwise they're pretty much just a switch.
Have you tried putting your Gizmo on the DMZ?

yes, I tried that with the old router; I had a DSL Model/Router combo from Verizon and it worked. Now I have compat cable, so I have a stand-alone modem, and I got a Buffalo router, and rather than setting up DMZ, I put the Gizmo first in line, then the router. So in fact I have 2 DHCP servers, one in the Gizmo, one in the real router. Maybe I should turn the DHCP server in the router off, and let the GIZMO to all the DHCP and routing stuff.
I have another VOIP box down the line, this is a paid VOIP line, and it worked fine for 2 years and now I miss calls sometimes. I think Packet8 is having some issues, since a friend of mine reports the same with his account. Still, I'd like to get a public IP for this box, to make sure it is not a NAT/Router issue. I am tempted to cancel the account and port the number to some other provider

Yeah, that might fix your VOIP issues. Otherwise you're double NAT'ed.
