WOAHHH! that's waaaay too hot. Searching around, the PC version doesn't usually go over 90°. I just asked a friend who builds graphic workstations and servers with these cards and he thinks they should be in the 75-80° range most of the time. "RMA. No question about it. 133c is WAY too hot. 90c is getting dangerous."

133° is waaaay too hot. Your card is probably already damaged at this point. Are you seeing speed for the GPU fan? I'd take it back to Apple.
UGH. NOOOOO!!! Since I'm too far away from an Apple Store I'd guess they'd have to send me a box to send it back. UGh I just don't want to go through this again ( as I did with my MBP). I just want it to WORK.

*sigh*
:cursin:

EDIT: iStat doesn't show the GPU fan but it shows the CPU fan running at 939rpm.

EDIT : I meant 133F NOT Celsius.

Yes, Jerry®. you can stand down.

133dF is a lot cooler than 133dC, which stopped me cold (npi) when I saw that in your post.

But I wish Apple would get the cooling down without getting the fan revs up. I will say that 939rpm is a lot slower than my mini.

I canceled my MacConnection i5 order after reading of many accounts of screen issues on the 27" iMacs on MacRumors.

I imagine they'll get these sorted out in a few months.

I've been burned previously on Rev A stumbles with the iMac G5 & MacBook.

you are going to have to wait until the next rev, 6+ months

they are *not* going to change anything in a few months, sorry.

there is absolutely *nothing* wrong with my wifes 43 month old Macbook, runs like a champ pretty much 24/7 -- we never unplug it or turn it off

Both of us can speculate what Apple may/may not do, but the fact is we can't predict Apples actions with certainty. Maybe it's a driver issue, maybe a panel issue that LG will sort out. Who knows? But at the moment I feel comfortable with my decision to wait a few months. If I get a speedbumped / cheaper iMac that'll be a bonus. If I get iLife '10, woo-hoo!

There is enough of a failure rate with these units that it is getting attention:

Obviously not all Rev A hardware is borked. My 24" Alu-iMac is still running strong.

Well so far I haven't had any graphic issues since zapping the PRAM. So I hope it was an isolated event. *fingers crossed*

How'd you get a pic of iStat? Is there a special way to take screenshots of widgets?
