Used Ethernet for Migration assistant.
It was kinda dumb as the instructions said to put the OSX install disc in the other mac and install CD/DVD sharing app, but I guess a G4 won't read that disc-- you're expected to always upgrade from the previous model I guess. But otherwise worked once I turned file sharing on and launched MA on the G4.

It was a 90 minute job so I left-- will have to go back over and start to look at what didn't transfer, what apps are toast, etc.

By the way that mac was fookin' beautiful, large screen and scroll-top mouse and little wireless KB and all. A fine piece of engineering for a thousand bucks. And very noticeably lighter than my 20" White iMac.
