Is the 320M graphics chip new?

Ah, it is.
I wouldn't be getting a 15" MPB, but I'd sure like to A/B the standard vs the hi-res screen.

I don't think my eyes are capable of seeing dots that small.

Still have the SD card slot. Deal killer for me.
Bring back the ExpressCard/34 in the 15" and it becomes appealing. 17" is too big, I had the G4 version at one time. As it is, I'm going to have to wait in the Apple store for an older refurb (they do have those occasionally.) Oh, and the 17" not having an i7 option? What's up with that? Still only two USB slots? In this day and age? I can think of four devices that people could want to use simultaneously; mouse, hard drive, card reader, wireless cell card.

The current 17" feels like my old 15", and has a much nicer screen than the 15", to boot. I've been waiting for this day since Christmas, when I gave my 15" to my stepson as a gift. Papa's getting a new MBP! ![]()

That may be the old one. The 330M appears to be ne: "All 15-inch and 17-inch models include two graphics processors, the new NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M for peak performance and Intel HD Graphics for energy efficient operation. More than twice as fast as the GeForce 320M, the powerful new GeForce GT 330M provides incredibly smooth, crisp on-screen graphics for the most demanding 3D games, creative software and technical applications.".
