Tell me about jump ropes

Bought a Nike rope last night. It is too long though. What is the "right" length"?

Are the handles hollow? If so, try shortening it 2-3 inches through the hole in the handle, then jump again.

It's all about the hand position. If you feel they're right, the bottom o the parabola should be striking the floor in front of your feet. Try that and report back.
