I wouldn't pay her to do anything that she'll eventually need to do for personal responsibility's sake. But I "would" pay her to help someone. I would place the shredding job within the context of helping daddy do something that without her help, would be something that would be much more difficult and that you would appreciate her help. Then I'd reward her for helping.

If you use a dishwasher, then putting away the silverware. Sorting is a good skill to learn.
