How high off the ground are the controls on the top unit?

Not as high as they look... at least, mine aren't. Take up WAY less space than side by side.

Does your model have a drain on the front? My LG has a drain and a drain filter that I'm supposed to drain and clean every month. I bought it used and the previous owners apparently never did this. I suspect many other people don't know about this either. I had to take it apart to get the dirt out of the drain hose. Been working fine since then.

thanks all.

Yeah, the drum thing sounds bogus to me, thats why I posted.

Id say our door stays open 95% of the time -- problem is that when its open you cant pass it to get to the rest of the laundry room, so it gets closed inadvertanly.

Its only some of the clothes that seem to get the stink, so wondering if its a random thing. I have a few t-shirts that smell bad, and wife has some new jeans that got it, so that prompted the questions to the repair guy.

We dont actually use soap all the time, many times we use oxyclean. Wife uses the pods, so not too much soap.

Will look into the other options.

You should use detergent with the oxyclean, by itself it will leave behind residue and dirt in the cloth. It may make the clothes look clean by removing the color from stains, but that does not remove some stuff that will cause odors.
