Anyone else stocking up the pantry, just in case the Corona virus...

I am not encouraging panic buying but I have encouraged people to buy a few extras of things they normally buy.

As you can see from this YouTube search from COVID19 affected areas, people panic buy. Supply chains assume factories are making food products, farms have workers showing up to harvest, deliveries are being made, and all your neighbors aren’t buying up all the food.

Be safe my friends.

I cornered the local market on consumer labeled Purell, when I went to the local pharmacy to pick up a scrip today the pharmacist offered to buy some from me.

Seems the local non customers cleaned her shelf (it's small locally owned and run-don't even use scrip numbering) and she hid the remaining stock behind the counter for regulars - then ran out. Her supplier is out as well.

I accommodated in return for future favors!

If you can figure out what they use to make it thicken up, you can make your own hand sanitizer out of 70% isopropyl alcohol. Just be careful around flames while it is evaporating.

Coming from a hurricane-prone region, having a small cache of canned goods is par for the course.

Living now in a 'rare but occasional' snow/ice storm area, ditto. We knew this winter was going to be an absolute wash-out, but we still have some canned this & that.

Overall, we might stock up a bit more on a few things (beans, flour, soups).

We stocked up a little on BOGO Progresso soup at the Publix a few days ago.
Going to Costco today and will probs stock up on some things, like maybe a big thing of peanut butter, lol.

I'd be like Mom! This soup is bland. No BOGO Pork Chops?

Yup. I have a couple of liters of 2-propanol that I use to disinfect large (15 liter) water bottles. But I have no way to gel it.

I hadn't planned on adding to my existing 2 month supply, but I get groceries on Monday so I may grab a few extras.

Not too worried about this thing getting out of hand.

just add some to Aloe Vera Gel. You can also add in some Vitamine E to counter the drying aspects of alcohol
