Wow! How messed up can people get? Astronaut goes nuts!

I feel for her kids. One day their mommy is an astronaut, which is pretty cool,
and then the next day their mommy is in jail charged with attempted murder,
revealed to have been involved with someone other than their dad, and having
all this broadcast all around the country. I hope they are being well-shielded
by their family (the ones not in jail, that is).

What happened to her could have happened to any of us under the right set of circumstances. We all have much more in common than we'd like to think. It's part of what makes us human. Like they say, there's not much difference between lovers and madmen.

the reason this is in the news is because of who she is. That kind of stuff happens way too often. A co-worker's wife is a lawyer who does pro bono work for a local women's shelter. She always has some interesting and sad stories to tell.
