Firefox. Safari is OK on my new iMac but it got real funky on my old Pismo and that's when I switched to Firefox. I am using AT&T/Yahoo for email and Safari isn't supported so I get the old email interface where FF has the new-although it's still a beta-interface (more like Entourage).
Question: Is there an autofill in FF? I ask because there are times when I input info and a window will pop up with my name, address, etc., that I click on to fill in info but not always and there's no menu command like autofill. What am I missing?

Firefox. I'm running two IP camera which use Java. Safari can't render but Firefox can. QED.

What? Nobody uses SeaMonkey, OmniWeb, or Opera? My list in order of preference:
1. SeaMonkey - looks kind of awful, but I always keep coming back to it. 2. OmniWeb - is really my all time favorite, but sometimes, it won't do what I want (all of the browsers seem to have various glitches). 3. Camino - this one is getting better all the time; used to be my favorite. 4. Safari - crashes on my Mac more than the others, but I like it, just can't use it all the time. 5. Opera - has the most bells/whistles, but maybe a little too much. 6. Shiira - promising, and I like some of its features. The above are on my Mac - I just don't like FireFox for some reason; need to give it another try I guess. I can never just use one browser, none do everything I want, so I keep switching between all of these six. Might give iCab a new try...

I use Firefox almost exclusively. Safari just doesn't work well for me. I feel like I am constantly fight it to get what I want. Opera seems nice on paper, but when I actually use it nothing is where it should be nor works the way it should. I praise them for trying something different, but different != better.

[quote Dick Moore]I now only use Camino. Safari handles the auto fill of logins, passwords and web forms better, but everything else is better on Camino.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Without this thread I don't think I would have gone out and looked at some of these alternatives. So far I love Camino. Much much faster than Safari which slows down over time for me and close enough in interface that it doesn't seem like a drastic change. My only concern is that if I adopt it as my primary browser I'll get out of touch with Safari which I have to support with the majority of my users.

Camino for the last few years...
The Intel build is screaming fast on my MBP. Check out: http://pimpmycamino.com/ for optimized builds, plug-ins, etc.

Hands-down winner for me is OmniWeb: http://www.omnigroup.com/omniweb
I use this to keep all my bookmarks unified across all my used browsers (Safari, Firefox, Camino, Opera): http://www.sheepsystems.com/products/bookdog/ |
