Let me tell you, driving past the gas stations is priceless.
Let me tell you, driving past those supercharging stations seeing cars just sitting and sitting while a dozen others are just waiting is priceless.
I know it happens but I’ve never seen it. However, in special’s case his wife will recharge at home so busy chargers are not an issue.

You've made my point. Compare to to the Mach-E!

The things people latch onto to declare "EVs are bad" like the lack of a frunk, even though almost no ICE vehicle has had a frunk since the VW beetle.
The Ioniq 5 has a small frunk. I put something in there for the first time in 23 months this week. Somehow I have managed...

Well, good because I was trying to make your point.
Also, I was trying to support my point, which is I don't know if I trust GM on this. Just look at that rats nest of cables, pipes and hoses and there isn't even an engine in there.

It’s all that emissions control stuff.

So you think the other EVs don’t have similar equipment under the hood, under the plastic covers?

I think--although I don't know for sure--they're probably a lot less haphazard and better designed.

google says @100 miles $5 (home charging) for EV and 7-10 for gas (depending on mpg). Using 3 days a week @100 miles and gas at 2X the cost = a $700 year difference. Its not nothing, but not bankrupt inducing either...
This is true. Taking into account installation of a charger (or at least a 240V outlet), extra registration costs in some states, and occasional charging at commercial chargers (which are generally more expensive than gas), it usually takes a while to see any difference in fuel cost and is unlikely to ever cover the difference in vehicle cost (definitely not for those of us who like to lease). Overall environmental costs are also questionable considering the dirty processes for extraction and purification of rare earths but get to be more positive when focusing on local (non-China) environment. But there are a number of other advantages to driving an EV that definitely makes it worth it.

Kinda feel like I might be coming off as an EV hater, but totally not. =)
For many peeps, they can be a big saver of $$$... but the notion that they are "free to use" is kind of a misnomer.
wifes coworker did the 100 mile a day commute 5 days a week, plus lived in the semi-boonies. her tesla has saved her prob a ton of $$. but in a specific use case... maybe not as much as one might think.
