My deodorant has freaking POISON in it!?

It doesn't have to make sense. Your surviving family members just need a good lawyer. Victim's lack of common sense is no defense.

[quote Lew Zealand]Someone should have told the woman who drank 2 gallons of water for that radio stunt that it's toxic in those quantities.
Eh, pure water is not toxic. Yes, you can die from having too much and not balancing out your electrolytes, but that doesn't mean it's toxic.

tox·ic [tok-sik]
–adjective
1. of, pertaining to, affected with, or caused by a toxin or poison: a toxic condition.
2. acting as or having the effect of a poison; poisonous: a toxic drug.
–noun
3. a toxic chemical or other substance.

Somehow, we've gone from discussing something which actually says "poison" on the label to discussing water.

the problem with scientific studies is that they need to be funded by someone.

more often than not, there are interested (biased) companies footing the bill, so an untainted study can be hard to carry on.

example: the tobacco lobby, and big Pharma.

don't get me started on the FDA, either.
they want to classify FRUIT JUICE as a DRUG now... yeah, you haven't seen this on the news because they want to SLIP IT UNDER THE RADAR!

Health freedom action alert: FDA attempting to regulate supplements, herbs and juices as "drugs"
by Mike Adams

When it comes to health freedom, this is the FDA's end game. A new FDA "guidance" document, published on the FDA's website, reveals plans to reclassify virtually all vitamins, supplements, herbs and even vegetable juices as FDA-regulated drugs. Massage oils and massage rocks will be classified as "medical devices" and require FDA approval. The document is called Docket No. 2006D-0480. Draft Guidance for Industry on Complementary and Alternative Medicine Products and Their Regulation by the Food and Drug Administration.

The FDA is accepting public comments on the docket until April 30th
. They tried to sneak this under the radar, but word got out and now the natural health community is up in arms over this rule. If you wish to protect your access to nutritional supplements, herbs, essential oils, homeopathic medicine or any other "complementary" or "alternative" modality, it is crucial that you take action to post your comments with the FDA right now and write your representatives in Washington to put a stop to this outrageous effort to destroy natural medicine. (And be sure to really write them. Just sending an email has virtually no impact compared to writing a physical letter in your own words.)

More like they want to regulate the practice of holistic/alternative practices where such things are proscribed as supposedly valid alternatives to real medicine.

'Bout friggin' time, I say.

From my link:
Handing a cup of raw vegetable juice to someone and telling them it's good for the detoxification of their liver will get you arrested for practicing medicine without a license and promoting an "unapproved drug."

I think more people have been killed by FDA-approved drugs in the last 10 years than those who use herbs or juice to treat themselves. Think about it.

MAVIC's right — water is non-toxic though of course it can still kill you and not only from drowning!
