Thx for reminding me of the title of The Five Chinese Brothers! I remember the story but couldn't remember the title. Now I can get it for our 2yr old! OK, and me too...

PUT ME IN THE ZOO! I forgot about that one

I liked Harold and the purple crayon but he got me into A LOT of trouble as mom didn't particularly care for us kids drawing all over the walls... Smile

More great Seuss that just came to mind:

"When a fox is in the bottle where the tweetle beetles battle with their paddles in a puddle on a noodle-eating poodle, THIS is what they call...
...a tweetle beetle noodle poodle bottled paddled muddled duddled fuddled wuddled fox in socks, sir!"

All of the Oz Stories by Frank L. Baum - get them at gutenberg.org. What a great database. Treasure droves of classic greats. The Oz series of books has got to be the very best of children stories ever. I'm surprised there aren't more renditions of his other books...they are a delight for young children. Great on a laptop (Pismo) in the dark room...you read to them and they fall asleep.

I've read my kids the story of Alice in Wonderland.

Reading Peter Pan right now.
