#31
Boehner? You're kidding. He and Eric Cantor lead the field in Flaming Pants awards from Fact Check.

swampy, one reason I don't post many links, other than just being annoying, is that it really doesn't make any difference. If somebody doesn't know that ACORN doesn't have to get a Federal grant to get its hands on Federal money should be sent back to nursery school.

I knew that when Obama was elected, the right wing's heads would explode. I just did not realize that it was going to be such a long, drawn out process, with shrapnel flying around day after day after day after day after day...

Well, Gute can't dispute the linked PDF chart, but I doubt that he will even look at it because it will destroy his argument. But, you are right about folks that don't have a clue about what ACORN is and what they do.

My head is fine, but I think the liberals around here are the ones with headaches. Having a little buyer's remorse there, gal?

Why do you want people to thrown in the streets so much? What do you have against people that struggle and the organizations that assist them? Why? Because of the "ten cents" you pay in taxes, a fraction of one penny could possibly help them? These feelings come "from" a place deep inside. You should just quit pussyfooting around and get to your "real" feelings instead of tip-toeing around the fringes. It's dishonest.

It all boils down to: most Republicans are selfish. They got theirs and they don't want anybody getting part of what they pay, dragging and screaming, in taxes. It doesn't matter how worthwhile the money may be spent - they are afraid that someone will cheat the system and get a fraction of a percent of the money they weren't entitled to.

You are not selfish? Open your house to one of those foreclosed on people for a month then come back and lecture us.

Dakota, it would help if you would base your posts in reality and not use these cute nonsensical "answers".

" Sixteen months ago, Arthur C. Brooks, a professor at Syracuse University, published "Who Really Cares: The Surprising Truth About Compassionate Conservatism." The surprise is that liberals are markedly less charitable than conservatives.

If many conservatives are liberals who have been mugged by reality, Brooks, a registered independent, is, as a reviewer of his book said, a social scientist who has been mugged by data. They include these findings:

-- Although liberal families' incomes average 6 percent higher than those of conservative families, conservative-headed households give, on average, 30 percent more to charity than the average liberal-headed household ($1,600 per year vs. $1,227).

-- Conservatives also donate more time and give more blood."

And when I called them thugs everybody jumped on me. Comparing MLK with people who don't pay their mortgages? What are you doing to his name?

I was merely questioning the difference between civil disobedience and criminal activity. MLK was jailed because he broke the law hence he was a criminal.
There are enough laws in this country that if you live your life without trespassing one or another - you've lived a really odd life.
