"Why is This GOP House Candidate Dressed as a Nazi?"

How much rage did you show when Bill Clinton said that Robert Byrd just had to be a KKK to get elected in West Virginia?

WTF does American political history have to do with men playing dress ups?

It's one thing to dress up and play wargames. It's entirely another to assume that, again, what you wear means what you think.

If your position is that he just happened to be playing a German and that is the end of it, then you need to go back and read the article again.
Again?

Which one is more serious? Acting like a racist or being one? Where are your posts slamming Robert(Sheets) Byrd and his apologist Bill(first-black-president) Clinton who tried to excuse him?

This guy is a member of a group called "Wiking" that says on its website that it "admires Nazi accomplishments." And Iott is on record saying this himself. I think most of us wouldn't be caught dead saying that. This group romanticizes this Waffen SS group and makes historically inaccurate statements about them in order to put them in a better light. I personally think that's a very bad idea. I would venture that at the time this guy was playing SS on the weekends he wasn't planning to run for Congress someday.
And how can any American look someone who is Jewish in the eye and say "I admire Nazi accomplishments."

That's wrong on every level. Sorry, but there's no excuse for Mr. Lott. His participation in the group shows very poor judgment.
If he is truly a fan of history and wanted to teach his son about WWII and the SS, his time would have been better spent at the Holocaust Museum.

Ah, now this is an additional bit of information that changes my original assessment. As I said before,

"Unless this guy was a completely gung-ho "we must dress up as SS men because they were so cool" ringleader, I'd give him a pass".

Looks like he no longer gets a pass.

Hi Dakota,
We migrated to this forum in late 2006 I think.
Posts about topical events and issues during the Clinton years would kmost likely be found in the Deal-Mac forum archives, however there was a great server meltdown that may have wiped most or all of that out.
That said, you seem to have an ongoing need for assistance in searching for information supporting your claims; I would be willing to do your searching for you for a discout rate of $20/hr.
Please let me know soon as I am considering other offers.

I'm sorry. I think you are trying to find the "twenty year old news" forum. This is the "it's happening right now" forum. You might want to try Google.

Very cute. Now go back and take care of your rentals. I am sure there are a few clogged toilets.

YOU are the one who is behind the news. Clinton said it on the occasion of Byrd's death. And that wasn't 20 years ago.

Here is what Clinton said at Byrd's funeral:

"I'll tell you what it means. He was a country boy from the hills and hollers of West Virginia, he was trying to get elected," Clinton said. "And maybe he did something he shouldn't have done, and he spent the rest of his life making it up. And that's what a good person does."
