Side by side or vertical?
Pros and cons for your own setup please.

Missing an option:

"Rows and columns."

(...because you're assuming that I just have 2 monitors.)

Side by side. MBP and a Dell 24".

The only con is, I don't have a third.

I had 9 at a job that has since gone defunct(go figure).

Right now I have just 3 in a rot. MacBook Pro, 24 Inch, 20 inch. If need be I can throw a 14 inch laptop and a 17 inch into the mix.

For those wanting a third monitor. I have been eyeing this myself.

Vertical.
Pro: It's good. Fits my desk. Leaves more room for writing, bills, etc. Easier on the neck than straining side to side.
Cons: None?

Do you have one of those little <$100 USB video adaptors?

The poll is for dual setups. That meant 2 last I knew.

Side by side.

Vertically arranged monitors would give me a sore neck. Unless one was *in* the desk like Letterman's setup.
