Official Apple Event thread. Post your Tablet talk, iPhone wishes and more!
I think that $600 would be the low end to expect to pay for this and that would probably have 0 profit margin. But if they are looking at the 'gillette' business model then the apps, music, ebooks...and 'one more thing' are where the profits are.

Clarification - iWork will be a big deal if you can connect an external keyboard to it.

Won't happen. You "won't need, won't want" a keyboard supposedly.
Would think this would be pretty easy with the built-in bluetooth?

See, with the possibility of at least two sizes of the iPad, you can have a mini and a maxi pad. I wonder if they come in red, too? Maybe the touch will now be know as the iTampon, since it is smaller and fits inside your pocket. Any other FHP jokes, go ahead. No matter what it is called, I am ordering one of these. They could call it a Zune and I would still get one. :wiggle:

I think that it is interesting to see some of the interesting decisions that the platform forced/allowed them to make. Some of the screenshots in the demos show keyboards that are specific to the application. Working in Numbers, you get a 10-key keyboard. Working in Pages you get a qwerty keyboard. That does present some interesting opportunities and the potential to introduce frustration as well.
