The first ipod was 399, then 10gb for 499

Increible but one issue jumps out at me right away.

Only 64gb memory max and no easy way to move large amounts around. It only has the ipod dock, not a USB if you look carefully.

So that is a limitation to consider. If it had a single USB2 port (or firewire) then it would be a true laptop killer.
