iPad + PDF

Hi Folks,

I am trying to help a friend with an iPad view and read PDF documents form her school. She showed me a document that has 22 pages, and I can scroll just fine in my Powerbook, but on her iPad, we can only see the first page, there is no way to scroll to the other pages. IN fact I think we only see about 2/3 of the first page.

Any way to download the PDF (from the iPad if possible) and read it offline, all 22 pages?

It's the first time I am using an iPad, so I don't know all the tricks yet. Thanks!

iBooks should work with the file but the EasyPDF App may be something to try, it's free. My wife has
pdf's on her iPad of over 600 pages and they work fine with the iBooks App.

when you are viewing a PDF on an iPad that is on a website you are basically looking at a webpage.
which means if you click the + button at the top, you can send the link to someone's email.
I've done this for Real Estate sites and it worked great, in fact the PDF just downloaded to the desktop when I clicked the link in the email, I did not have to enter a password or anything.

try it and see if that works. Of course if you check the email via the iPad you will have the same issue I guess.

how do I download it do the iPad in the first place? How do I download the PDF that is. iBooks is already installed, but the PDF file is online

Sounds like you'll have to download the PDF to the desktop Mac that syncs the iPad and sync it via iTunes to iBooks.

Or you may be able to download it to a desktop Mac and email it to an account that can be accessed via the iPad and read it via EasyPDF.

GoodReader (99 cents) allows you to access those PDFs from the web or from email attachments and such, without syncing to the Mac, and provides an alternate reader.
