Nothing has really rocked my world this season, so far, but a few efforts worth my time.
The Event - Good(ish), but not even close to filling the gaping hole left by the island of Lost. Most notable for me is just how flat and unintriguing a show becomes when the questions/mysteries are answered too soon. Drains all the mojo right out of a show.
Detroit 1-8-7 - Pretty good so far. I'm a couple of episodes behind, but I can see some real potential. They at times try a little too hard to do NYPD Blue better than NYPD Blue, but if they can find their own voice this one could be worth sticking with.
Chase - So far, so good. Pretty good for a little brain bubble gum.
Hawaii 5-O - I'll probably fall away from this one. From what I've seen, a little by the numbers for me.
The Good Guys - Best new show of the season (It got an early start, but I still count it as a new kid). Only network "can't miss it" show so far.
Rubicon - Low key, but a great dollop of espionage for the tube. Right up there with The Good Guys on my list of must see shows.
Looking forward to the premiere of The Walking Dead on Halloween, but it will have to be every bit as good as its trailers for me to stick with a show about zombies; a genre that I've never had an interest in.
