How hard is it to find one in a decent (not excellent) condition in San Gabriel Valley area, So CAL? And how can I tell if it is authentic?

You'd also want to match it with the other 3 ... Bel Airs might have spinners with red inserts, black inserts with no spinners, 210s and 150s would be the less intricate "dog dish" style and so on.

Does it rock? Does it roll?

Then it might be an authentic 50's period piece.

Other than that, close comparison with one known good?

Good luck.

The thing is though, that unless you already belong to a TriFive forum, it won't be common knowledge. Some brief Googling reveals a few places that make repro parts like fenders, likely as good or better than original, but hubcaps aren't seemingly made. Hence the $75 or whatever prices on eBay.

Maybe the short answer is, if you find one at all, it's *probably* original.

Rather expensive though, and spinners are extra.
