and stole my laptop, a six year old macbook. Luckily, it is password protected, insured, and I have a backup of essential stuff. Odd thing is my classical violin was out in the room. Thank god for dumb@ss criminals.
The bummer is I'm self employed and use quicken 2006. There's an auto backup to mobile me but only when I shut it down, which had been awhile.
Sucks to be invaded like that.

sorry to hear that. At lest you have the violin, probably much more important that the old MacBook.
FYI: The password can be reset, so if you have personal data in there (SSN, tax returns) I would be very worried.
good luck.

Indeed it does suck & I understand completely because my house was broken into a week ago.
You lost much more than I did.

Space time: Yikes.
I had no idea passwords can be reset. How?
There is sensitive stuff on there. How hard is that to do?

if you forget your password, you can reboot from CD/DVD and you can reset the password for the account.

Doesn't the iPad allow you to remotely wipe all info or disable it? Is this possible with a laptop?

Thanks. Just installed this on my MBP.
I've been using PhoneLocator on my phone for awhile. I might try this one also / instead.
