I had to turn off the Williams/Victoria Azarenka match because of the exceedingly weird and annoying noise Azarenka makes every time she hits the ball.

I find that so annoying too! Maria Sharapova is the worst, both Williams sisters are pretty loud too. I watch her matches with the sound off. I'd hate to play someone who made noise like that every time they hit the ball.

It seems to be an effort to psych out the opponent, I think it should be against the rules. A study done last year showed that this loud grunting can delay the opponent's reaction time.
