Knew little to nothing about it going in. Had pretty low expectations.
Damn near perfect.

Loved it and enjoyed it more than I thought I would. ILM created an excellent first feature. The lighting blew me away,.

I need to put it in my Netflix cue. Thanks for the recommendation.

i can see why it didn't do better - too hard to market the toy tie-ins.
not because it wasn't good.

I was surprised I liked it as much as I did.

It was okay, but I think that it relied too much upon references to old movies for most of the entertainment value.
When you're sitting next to someone who isn't a movie buff and you have to explain why you laughed at something that actually looks pretty dumb or out of context to those who are unfamiliar with the other movies, that takes a lot of the fun out of it.

Or maybe I would have been too fixated on them and not enjoyed it quite as much. Sometimes a little naivete makes things a little more enjoyable. Seems like there were probably enough nods to make the genre buffs happy, but I didn't feel like I was missing out either.
I do have to say I laughed out loud at the Fear and Loathing nod. That shirt did seem a little familiar at the beginning, then I found out why. The man with no name as the spirit of the west was pretty killer too.
Yeah, like I said, I probably got the obvious stuff and missed the more subtle references.

I saw that it was available at RedBox and wondering if it was any good, might have to check it out. Thanks.

The only movie reference I really remember was the fear and loathing one. I still enjoyed the movie. Wasn't really appropriate for the 2 year old though. The government should enforce some sort of rating system to keep me safe!
