I've had dismal luck with Mac DVD ripping software for years and fire up Parallels most often to rip DVDs (though I now play Ultima IV on occasion there, too). Well I have a DVD which finally stumped my PC SW and RipIt handled it with no problem, so that bundle it came in last year is now coming in even more handy!
Woohoo, RipIt!

I have had very very few problems ripping with RipIt. However, the last few DVDs I've ripped have stopped several times while playing using DVD Player. The solution from RipIp was to "try using VLC". Which in fact, worked, but I kind of prefer DVD Player.

RipIt's rips frequently don't work when burnt back to DVD.
MTR4 never fails me.

I wouldn't say frequently (in my experience), but it occasionally happened. I used to use MTR but got away from it after all the surrounding drama. I use DVDFab now either through VMWare or on my PC.
