mac will not install printer driver
#1
My Mac will not install printer drivers. The printer started to act up so I go a new one. Looks like the problem is with the mac. Our other mac can print wirelessly without issue, as well as the ipad. I have tried to install from the disc as well as from apple directly. Please help. I am running OS X 10.6.8

The usual sequence of pre-issue resolution involves a foray into Disk Utilities and Permission Repair. Then, in the immortal words of the BBC Program "The IT Crowd"

Take a look at this: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3147 and also pay attention to the bottom part that talks about resetting the printing system. There's also a link for how to do that on that page.

Used this suggestion to revive a problematic Epson R200 that would not load/advance paper or print. Deleted and reloaded the driver - it works now.

Thanks for the info

Bad part is I just ordered a replacement printer, that $19.99 Canon deal from B&H photo posted a few days ago. The R200 was low on ink and that whole Canon Printer (with scanner) was only a dollar more than the Black Epson Ink.

:dunno:
