Cheap Tmobile iPhone plan? Or other carrier?
#1
I'm sure this was hashed out a long long long time ago, but I can't seem to find anything searching, but...

I have an iPhone 3GS that I want to get service on. Cheap service. No data needed, just need to be able to make calls and send text messages. This is for my wife to use at home it will always be on the wifi. Looking for some sort of pay as you go plan that will work with it. I'm assuming Tmobile because it is GSM. Minimal minutes, she uses less than 30 minutes a month. Probably less than 100 texts as well. Really just for emergencies or quick phone calls. Just looking for the cheapest way to get service on it.

Standard T-mobile pay as you go.. Buy $100 fill good for one year (1150 minutes I believe), then top off once a year with a $10 refill (34 minutes) that will set you up an additional year.

At your wires usage of 360/minutes per year plus texts (call it 400/minutes per year total) it will take three years before a full $100 refill is needed again So she will pay $120 for three years or $3/month.

I can't see it getting much cheaper than that.

this is what I do, $100 = 1000 minutes (not 1150), then add $10 each year to extend the expiration date.

when I get an iPhone I need to figure out a cheap way to get data.

Can you unlock it or is it Verizon based? PagePlusCellular, 1200 minutes, 3000 text/pic messages, 250mb data, $29.95 per month pay as you go. You pay taxes if you are in Ohio.

Since you have an AT&T phone, unlocking it and putting it on T-Mobile, like suggested above, would be good, if you get good T-Mobile signal where you are.

If you had a Verizon phone, the Page Plus standard plan would also be a good way to go.

Is there a way to make sure the iPhone doesn't use Tmobile data? or with just a standard pay as you go will the data not work?

Turn data off in settings.
