Garmin nüvi 1390LMT 4.3-Inch Portable Bluetooth GPS Navigator with Lifetime Map & Traffic Updates, $115@amazon

gold box deal at Amazon, $115, is that a good deal?

I am tempted by the map and traffic updates, but I am not familiar with the garmin models. Out old 350 something still works but maps are 6 years old and there were a few instances where intersections have been updated and maps were out of date. Oh, and it's also slow to find satellites.

I'd like to know what to buy too. I'm going to need one for a Christmas present.

WallyWorld frequently has the Refurb 1390LMT on sale for $80 (w/ Free Shipping) and it's Garmin Refurbed w/ One-Year Warranty. Bought one a few months back, looked & works like brand new (like Apple refurbs).
The BT works great with my phone too.

Currently $90 @ Wallys

I have lifetime maps and traffic on my TomTom, and it has been very nice to have. It lets you know when a traffic delay will slow you down, and gives you the option to re-route.

I bought this recently, and it's very nice. The 4.3-inch screen is a nice balance between being easy to read and easy to store/position. It's our first GPS unit, though, so I don't have any comparison for the user experience.
