OT: Charlie Derrington killed in Nashville.....
#1
the famous Blue Grass Mandolin player and I think he worked for Gibson Guitars at one time. Killed by a drunken driver, illegal...driving on the wrong side of the road and hit Charlie on his motorcycle.

He will be missed if you are in to Blue Grass.

Charlie was a master mandolin builder @ Gibson and was the GM of the Original Acoustic Instruments Div. there.

Truly a sad story and a great loss for the music world.

That's too bad. I've been loving me some bluegrass lately.

RIP Charlie. Don't care for Country but Bluegrass is something I can listen to almost
anytime. We have a Mandolin player at work and man is that a beautiful sound.

Many Bluegrasser pickers have died too soon: Gene Wooten (DOBRO®), Randy Howard (fiddle), Roy Husky, Jr. (bass), Larry Rice (mandolin), Jimmy Campbell (fiddle).
